OBJECTIVES
  1. Improvement of the habit of juvenile offspring to children and strengthening them.
  2. Exposure to self-help and early education for all parties.
  3. Increase creativeness for the purpose of accelerating personal efficiency.
  4. Increase Imagination and creativity among children and youth.
  5. Create awareness of traditional and art activities, Encourage scientific discoveries and new findings.
  6. Supporting the development of conducting arts.
  7. Involvement of all people in arts, literature and in educational activities.
GOALS
  1. Filling the information of all parties through compact libraries.
  2. Old and rare books are to be preserved by converting to e-books.
  3. Start library in the areas where the population is above 1000.
  4. Increasing excellent infrastructure in libraries.
  5. Provision for standard daily papers and magazines in libraries.
  6. Introduce modern technology in library and increase the service.
NEW INITIATIVE
1. COMPETITIVE EXAM CENTRE

The Competitive Exam centre is functioning at Ariyalur Revenue Divisional Office on behalf of district Central library. The day-to-day 100 students are getting trained for exam. The centre gives free training and reference books to equip them for the competitive exams. On a average of 50 students pass from the centre and are employed in multi-state government offices.

2. MAGAZINES FOR READERS

To educate for competitive exams readers are given leading magazines. For district Library 61 seasonal magazines. For 4 full time branches 34 seasonal magazine and for 21 library branches 19 seasonal magazines were provided. Monetary journals are also available.

3. Printed and online books, magazines to be increased.

 

FUNCTIONS OF LOCAL LIBRARY AUTHORITY

INFRASTRUCTURE OF LIBRARY
OWN BUILDING:

Under Local Library Authority, Ariyalur 65 library functions. 1 District library, 2 Regional library, 1 Full time library, 5 Branch library, 2 Rural library and 1 Part time library are running in a compact building.

RENTAL BUILDING:

1 Regional library, 3 branch library totally 4 libraries are functioning in rental building.

FREE BUILDING:

9 Branch Library, 17 Village Library and 23 Part Time Library totally 49 Libraries are functioning in free building

COMPUTERISED LIBRARY:

The district library has been computerized with facilities including e-mail and e-mail at the base of the Indemnity Funding Fund of the Rajaram Mohanroy. There is also an opportunity to find information about the books that have been interlinked through the internet.

READERS CIRCLE:

The readers Circle is being played by the library members and local prominent personalities who have made their major contributions of the Libraries.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR DISTRICT CENTRAL LIBRARY
  1. A copy of the family card / Aadhar Card
  2. Introduction by the members of the library..
  3. Deposit for a book is Rs.20 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 10.
  4. Deposit for two books is Rs. 40 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 10.
  5. Deposit for three books is Rs. 50 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 10.
  6. Deposit for Five books is Rs. 100 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 10
  7. Time frame to return the book is 14 days.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR BRANCH / VILLAGE / PART TIME LIBRARY
  1. A copy of the family card / Aadhar Card
  2. Introduction by the members of the library..
  3. Deposit for a book is Rs.15 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 5.
  4. Deposit for two book is Rs. 25 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 5.
  5. Deposit for three book is Rs. 30 and annual subscription fee is Rs. 5.
  6. Time frame to return the book is 14 days.
REQUIREMENTS TO OPEN A PART TIME LIBRARY
  1. Two patron are needed and for each Rs. 1000.
  2. Minimum 200 Members to be joined with subscription fee of Rs.20.
  3. In order to function well the building must be a free building.
  4. While opening Rs.2000 valuable furniture’s to be available with sponsor support.
  5. Free land of 5 cent to be obtained to construct library in future.
