REVENUE DIVISIONAL OFFICES
Ariyalur District is divided into 2 revenue divisions for administrative convenience. The Revenue division is headed by Revenue Divisional Officer in the rank of Sub – Collector in Cadre of I.A.S or a Deputy Collector . He is the Sub Divisional Magistrate having jurisdiction over his division. A Personal Assistant in the Cadre of a Tahsildar assists in administration. The Revenue divisional Offices are a replica of Collectorate in the matter of number of sections and they act as intermediary in the administrative setup. Each division consists of a few Taluks whose performance is constantly monitored by the concerned Divisional Office.

Land Lease
List of Lease Cases
The Poramboke lands / buildings / lands with buildings at the disposal of the Government are granted on lease basis temporarily for non-agricultural purpose in favor of individuals, private bodies under the provision of R.S.O.24-A, subject to certain conditions for a minimum period of 3 years at a time and maximum period of 30 years.
Rate of Annual Lease Rent
As per the prevailing orders in force, the annual lease rent is fixed at 7% (inclusive of LC & LCS) of market value of the lands for non-commercial purposes and at 14% (inclusive of LC & LCS) for commercial purposes. The market value or Guide Line Value, whichever is higher shall be taken into consideration for fixation of lease rent. In respect of long term lease, the annual lease rent is revisable once in three years, based on the prevailing market value of the land by the District Administration.
Master Lease Register
The Master Lease Register is being maintained at the Taluk and the District level to make entry of each lease cases. This Register is updated every Fasli by the Jamabandhi Officer after the Jamabandhi accounts are settled. The leased out lands are inspected by the Tahsildar/ Revenue Divisional Officer/ District Revenue Officer/ District Collector periodically to ensure whether the lease conditions are being maintained.
Committee on Lease Cases
In order to speed up the process and to take early decision on fresh lease / Renewal of lease cases, the Government have constituted a State Level Committee. The lease proposals placed before the committee shall be examined and issues orders on lease cases, where the unobjectionable lands are involved. In respect of objectionable lands, the recommendation of the committee shall be forwarded to Government for issuing final orders.
